Who writes Strategic Metals
Articles are written and edited by Joel Durant, Head Writer and Editor. Every article carries his byline, and he holds final editorial control over what is published.
How we research and use AI
Our articles are researched with AI assistance, then fact-checked, edited, and written under the editor’s direct control. AI is a research and drafting aid, never the author of record and never a source. Every figure, price, production or reserve statistic, market-share number, named-company claim, and policy or export-control detail is verified against a current primary source — such as the USGS, the IEA, S&P Global, exchange announcements, or company filings — before it is published.
Accuracy and corrections
The strategic-metals space moves fast, so we date fast-moving figures and prefer ranges over stale point numbers. If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Email the editor and we will review and correct errors promptly.
Independence
Strategic Metals is funded by advertising, not by the companies we write about. We do not accept payment, shares, or other compensation for coverage, and we do not run sponsored stock promotions. Our independence is the point of the site, and we protect it.
Disclosure of interests
Our editor personally invests in precious metals and junior mining companies. Any article discussing a specific company he may hold a position in carries a short disclosure. Nothing we publish is financial or investment advice.
